What is Fullmetal Alchemist?

After losing their mother, Alphonse and Edward Elric attempt to bring her back using the forbidden science of human alchemy. However, this carries a heavy price. Ed loses his leg, and Al loses his life. Ed is able to seal Al’s soul inside of a huge suit of armor, at the cost of his arm. Years later, Ed (now with two mechanical limbs) and Al (still trapped in the armor) leave their childhood home, each brother concerned with the other’s happiness. They are searching for any information on the fabled Philosopher’s stone, hoping it will allow them to regain their old bodies. Ed, who has a natural talent and skill for alchemy, soon becomes nationally certified. He is soon known everywhere as the "Fullmetal Alchemist."

Nothing of worth can be given unless something of equal value is sacrificed. This is the essential law of Alchemy that the Elric Brothers, Edward and Alphonse, once lived by. During a great war, Ed and Al's father, a State Alchemist, dog of the military was called to fight. He was never seen again, depressing the family. As a result, Ed and Al's mother grew deathly sick and she was lost. The brothers, who trained in alchemy under their father, weren't prepared to accept this. So to revive their mother, the two attempted the most dangerous and forbidden Human Creating & Rebirth alchemy. The ordeal rendered Al lifeless and Ed dismembered as well as having to watch their mother die all over again. Not willing to give his brother to death, Ed renders the soul of Al into a suit of armor, a technique only he knows making him the Fullmetal Alchemist. The brothers now journey to restore not only their mother but themselves and the answer seems to be the legendary Philosopher Stone.

Who is Wrath? (SPOILERS)

Wrath is the failed human transmutation of Izumi Curtis who had tried to revive her deceased infant son. After she had failed to bring him back to life in a normal-looking body, she gives him back to the Gate. Years later, he finds his way out of the Gate as an innocent young boy with no recollection of his past...and with a very familiar looking arm and leg which somehow allows him to perform alchemy.

His true identity is realized  in episode 30 when Archer discovers the oroboros tattoo on the boy's right foot. He becomes Wrath in episode 31 when Envy finds the boy and feeds him incomplete Philosopher's Stone, transforming the nameless innocent boy into the vengeful homunculus named Wrath who then joins Envy's group. He now refuses to regard Izumi as his mother and forms a mother-son bond with Sloth whom he loves very much.

Who the heck is "Moofy"?

"Moofy" is the fan-created name for the nameless boy that later became Wrath. No one really knows who started it, but the name originated from the LJ community fm_alchemist when they had no name to refer to him by. It's grown so that "Moofy" is Wrath before he becomes Wrath in episode 31.

I hate Wrath! But I love "Moofy"! Can I still join?

Hey! Manga!Wrath is totally different from the anime one! Why isn't the fanlisting for both?

I planned this fanlisting before I knew the identity of manga!Wrath back in May. To give more people chances to create character fanlistings, I decided to stick with my original choice of just focusing on anime!Wrath instead of doing a collective fanlisting which would spoil the manga for the anime viewers.
